Brugman Outfitting is owned by Steve Brugman who has lived and hunted in southeastern New Mexico for more than 20 years. We offer personalized hunts to a limited number of hunters. Our guides are friendly, competent and experienced with knowledge of the areas and species hunted.

Out hunting takes place in southeast New Mexico near Carlsbad for wild scale/blue quail . We have an excellent population of quail most years and this should be a good one due to above average winter and spring moisture. Hunters will be responsible for transportation to Carlsbad NM, we can help you find lodging and assist with meals. Typical hunts start around 6:00 am and run until late afternoon. I will provide all field transportation, guide service the use of dogs (hunters can bring their own), field lunch, soft drinks, bird cleaning and packaging .The terrain is mostly gentle rolling sand country to the East with rougher rockier country to the West.

The season runs from mid November to mid February. The weather in November and February is usually mid 60s in the day and near freezing in the morning. December and January it varies from mid 20s to mid 50s during the day.
Prices and Other Hunts at Brugman Outfitting

The price is $300 per day for one hunter $250 for 2 or more youth hunters with a paid adult 50% off all hunt fees subject to 7.315% state tax. I will require a 50% deposit to reserve dates. These hunts can be combined with coyote calling, dove or possibly duck hunting when seasons overlap. Hunts for Mearns and or Gambels quail may be arranged at certain times call for details. NM state nonresident license: 3 day small game $33 plus $4 state access stamp & $5 habitat stamp . I also outfit for big game hunts: mule deer, elk, antelope free range oryx , aoudad, and javelina.
