Conservation Group Signs Agreement to Recover Bobwite Quail Habitat
Today, the Georgia Association of Conservation District Supervisors (GACDS) joined with 13 other conservation organizations of the Georgia Bobwhite Technical Team, by signing a Memorandum of Agreement committing to the recovery of bobwhite quail and other early successional habitat dependent species, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division (WRD). More than four million acres of habitat must be enhanced across Georgia's landscape to achieve Northern Bobwhite Conservation Initiative (NBCI) recovery goals.Kentucky quail are ringing in the New Year in style thanks to the formation of four new Quail Forever chapters. The new Quail Forever chapters are dedicated to improving habitat for a Kentucky upland bird in great conservation need, the bobwhite quail.
Central Illinois Home to New Quail Forever Chapter - Jan. 06, 2010
Quail hunters and conservationists in central Illinois have formed the state's newest Quail Forever chapter. Known as the Central Illinois Bobwhites Chapter of Quail Forever, the chapter will focus on quail habitat restoration efforts in Menard and Sangamon Counties.
Pheasant and Bobwhite Quail Stocking for Central and Southern Region WMAs - Dec. 22, 2009
The NJDEP's Division of Fish and Wildlife has decided that pheasants will be stocked for Thursday, December 24 on central and southern region Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs). The 1,160 pheasants that were not stocked for December 22 on central and southern region WMAs will be evenly distributed amongst the last 3 stocking days in those regions for December 24, 29 and 31. The pheasant stocking allocations for northern region WMAs remain as originally scheduled for December 24, 29 and 31.
