Our upland bird hunting areas are well managed to produce a lot of native birds. Bobwhite quail can be found in good numbers. In fact, when the weather conditions are good for reproduction, the numbers can be downright astounding. AND, We also have excellent suppliers of flight conditioned birds for released bird hunts. AND, we use quail surrogators to get birds to six weeks old, then they grow up wild from that point. Like I said, the numbers can be astounding! With released birds, we can take Chukar and Pheasant in addition to the quail. Combined with our experienced guides and a kennel full of well trained bird dogs, a quality Texas hunting experience is assured.

Moore’s Hilltop Ranch
4132 Midway Rd, Weatherford, Texas 76085
Phone: (817) 925-8305

MHR raises their own birds and takes pride in the birds they raise. We have been raising birds for over 10 years and we have been told we have the cleanest and fastest birds that hunters have EVER seen. The term "pen-raised birds" causes many a purist to turn up his nose. It's kind of like preaching the virtues of jonboats to someone who never takes to the water in anything less than a yacht. All I can offer in response is that I hope each and every purist has the good fortune to hunt wild quail as often as we hunt pen-raised birds. I just cannot see denying myself the beauty of being in the field or the near-sinful pleasure of watching dogs work, or the pounding of my heart as a bird takes to the air, simply because the birds were born in a protected environment.
