Maryland Quail Hunting Information

Although quail densities are generally low, hunters that find good habitat can still be successful in Maryland. Last year's mild winter and this summer's favorable weather should translate into higher numbers of birds - anecdotal reports suggest that reproductive success was good this summer on properties managing habitat for quail – which means Maryland's 800 quail hunters should venture into the 1,500 bird harvest area. * Season Dates: November 7 thru February 15, 2010 (Eastern Zone); November 7 thru January 15, 2010 (Western zone; closed in Allegany and Garrett Counties) * Daily Bag / Possession Limits: 6 / 12
