Iowa Quail Hunting Information
In a state looking for some brighter upland news considering their toppling pheasant numbers, Iowa's roadside survey indicated a quail increase of 45 percent. The southern third of Iowa is the state's quail range, and the area thankfully received a normal winter, which increased survival. Hunters should find birds in numbers slightly better than last year, and should produce a harvest of 10,000-20,000. Iowa quail have benefitted immensely from the state's 23,000 acres of CRP Bobwhite Buffers, and more could be enrolled as soon as they become available. * Season Dates: Oct 31 thru January 31, 2010 * Daily Bag / Possession Limits: 8 / 16
