Quail hunting in Mexico: Discover some of the last truly wild quail hunting in the northern hemisphere. On an average day, you and your hunting companions will flush approximately 12 to 15 coveys of Bobwhite quail during an afternoon hunt. Covey sizes vary from roughly 20 to 30 quail per covey.On Tuesday, October 6th, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will hold its second-to-last public listening session on the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) in Albany, Georgia. Last month, the USDA began these CRP listening sessions with the first of nine stops located in Spokane, Washington. At that first session, the USDA announced one of their policy options was to drop CRP enrollment to 24 million acres nationwide; a completely unacceptable proposal from Quail Forever's perspective.

In Pheasants Forever's view, this is completely unacceptable and we urge all of our members & supporters to take immediate action by contacting the USDA in opposition of this proposal. Additionally, Pheasants Forever considers the current 32 million acre CRP cap a short term goal, and recommends that the USDA request Congressional authority to expand
UPLAND GAME HUNTS FOR YOUTHS - Sep. 11, 2009
Hunters 15 years of age and younger can get a jump start on the 2009 upland game season by participating in a youth hunt offered by the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW). Scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26-27, this preseason hunt offers young hunters the chance to hunt five upland game bird species and three species of rabbit.

Illinois Quail Forever Seeking Youth Ambassadors - Jul. 14, 2009
Illinois Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) are looking for interested youth to participate in the first-ever Illinois PF/QF Youth Leadership Council. Twelve youth (ages 10-17) with an interest in hunting, fishing and the outdoors will be selected to serve as youth ambassadors on a variety of conservation issues.
