CRP Listening Session Coming to Heart of Southern Quail Country on Tuesday - Oct. 01, 2009
On Tuesday, October 6th, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will hold its second-to-last public listening session on the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) in Albany, Georgia. Last month, the USDA began these CRP listening sessions with the first of nine stops located in Spokane, Washington. At that first session, the USDA announced one of their policy options was to drop CRP enrollment to 24 million acres nationwide; a completely unacceptable proposal from Quail Forever's perspective.

In Pheasants Forever's view, this is completely unacceptable and we urge all of our members & supporters to take immediate action by contacting the USDA in opposition of this proposal. Additionally, Pheasants Forever considers the current 32 million acre CRP cap a short term goal, and recommends that the USDA request Congressional authority to expand

Illinois Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) are looking for interested youth to participate in the first-ever Illinois PF/QF Youth Leadership Council.
