Bringing back the bobwhite is topic of ‘Outdoor Hotline’
Jan. 10, 2007
CONWAY – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is carefully working to bring back the bobwhite quail population in Arkansas. Brining back the bobwhite will be the topic of Thursday night's Outdoor Hotline on the Arkansas Educational Television Network.
A crew of experts will be on hand in the AETN studios to take calls beginning at 7 p.m. on Jan. 11. The agency is involved in several programs available to row crop farmers that both improve habitat and at the same time expand landowners' bottom line. This and other topics will be discussed on the hour-long show.
“We'll be focusing on bobwhites,” said Steve “Wildman” Wilson, AGFC public affairs coordinator. “Bird hunters and landowners can call in their questions and comments about quail and quail habitat,” Wilson explained.
